The Project
When the world needed
certified travel solutions
At the height of international Covid travel restrictions, Sorcha Biotech needed a complete digital platform that could process PCR test bookings, verify customer identities, and deliver internationally recognised, tamper-proof certificates. The stakes — for travellers, for airlines, for border agencies — were not abstract.
We architected and built the entire online ecosystem: a WooCommerce booking and payment system, custom React-powered Gutenberg blocks that transformed the client design into an intuitive interface, and two bespoke WordPress plugins that handled the technically complex parts of the platform.
The Yoti plugin processed biometric data through secure APIs — facial recognition and document verification — ensuring each customer was who they claimed to be. The Certus plugin delivered blockchain-authenticated certificates directly to customers, accepted by airlines and border agencies because the cryptographic proof of authenticity was verifiable by anyone.

Our Approach
Complex integrations, seamless experience
The technical complexity of this project was significant: biometric data processing, blockchain certificate issuance, real-time booking with payment processing, regulatory compliance. The user experience had to be the opposite — clear, calm, and confidence-inspiring at every step.
We kept the architecture clean by treating the integrations as isolated services — each plugin handling its own domain (identity, certification), communicating with the core WooCommerce platform through well-defined interfaces.
From identity verification through certificate delivery, every touchpoint in the customer journey was considered and designed. For a traveller booking a test before an international flight, uncertainty or confusion was not an option.
