The Project
A RASCAL of a thing,
built to match
Brought to you by Sir Rod Stewart and distilled on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, Wolfie's Whisky is a brand with personality. When they came to us, they had an exceptional design supplied by their brand agency. Our job was to bring it to life on one of the web's most demanding platforms.
We built and deployed on WordPress.com VIP — the enterprise managed hosting platform used by major media organisations worldwide — using TypeScript and React to power the interactive experience throughout.
The brief required multi-region and multi-currency functionality, serving the UK, EU, and USA markets from a single codebase. We engineered a bespoke custom theme and a full library of custom Gutenberg blocks with a hand-crafted drag-and-drop builder — giving the editorial team complete control over every page.

A hand-crafted library of custom Gutenberg blocks built in React and TypeScript, complete with a drag-and-drop layout builder. Editorial teams got full visual control without ever touching code.

WordPress.com VIP imposes strict performance and security requirements. We engineered within those constraints — no shortcuts, no plugin sprawl — building only what was needed and building it properly.
The drag-and-drop Gutenberg block library was our standout technical contribution: a system that gave editors full layout freedom while guaranteeing design consistency on every build. Each block was typed in TypeScript with full InspectorControls, preview modes, and responsive behaviour baked in.
Multi-currency implementation covered pricing display, cart calculation, checkout, and tax logic across three regional markets — all managed from a single WordPress instance.
